Requesting an ADHD or autism assessment is an important first step — and one that shows how much you care about your child’s wellbeing. You’ve just begun a journey that can bring clarity, understanding, and access to the right support. There may still be a few stages ahead, but every step helps you get closer to understanding your child’s unique strengths and needs.
The process can take time, and it’s natural to feel both hopeful and uncertain. Each appointment, form, and conversation is a meaningful part of building a clearer picture of how your child experiences the world. When that understanding comes, it can make all the difference — helping teachers, professionals, and you as a parent provide the best possible support.
You’ve already done something incredibly positive by starting this journey. Though it may take patience, the insight and help you’ll gain will be worth it. This is the first step toward ensuring your child feels understood, supported, and able to thrive as their true self.
By completing our Assessment Booking form, you have completed Step 1, asking for help. Atypically will now help by passing your details on to one of our trusted, professional Assessment Providers, who will be in touch very soon.
Step 2 will be discussing your child's needs with the Assessor to and deciding on the pathway forward. This is your opportunity to ask all the questions that you need to and ensure your child is going to get the help and support they need throughout the process.
